BW PTSO to offer Student Self Defense Classes!

Briar Woods PTSO is aware of the fears parents face everyday preparing their children to become young adults in a time where sexual assault, mass shootings, and violent discrimination make the daily news. We are pleased to introduce Minyon Self Defense LLC as our partner in preparing our youth at Briar Woods High School. Experienced personnel bringing real-life experience in self-defense and their passion for sharing that experience to educate others in their goal of empowering and building confidence for all ages within our community while providing valuable self-defense techniques.
 
A four-hour self-defense Basic Session curriculum includes topics such as; self-defense tools/equipment, situational awareness, verbal commands, strikes, prevention of takedowns, active shooter response, and basic emergency first aid. The session will be both discussion based and hands on. The cost per student for each session will be $60 for PTSO members and $70 for non-PTSO.
